Reach out to the vine rep? why? these people are just useless tattle tails. they were only hired to replace high salary fresh market managers.

For Produce:

  • Quality, quality, quality. This includes out of dates.
  • Cleanliness

For Freezers/Cooler:

  • No holes
  • Damages done daily
  • As little product left on floor as possible
  • Swept inside and out

For Deli:

  • No out of dates, ever
  • No holes
  • Watch load limits
  • Make sure those endcaps are right

It's a lot of work. You're going to hate most days. If you don't have any physical ailments yet, you will after a few weeks of having to throw Produce loads, Cooler loads, and Freezer loads on the same shift. Now that Deli and Freezers/Cooler have a fall-guy/gal, you're it, and management is quick to 'Oh that's so and so's job' it on you.

Best of luck and God speed.

Not worth being a lead anymore. When the s*&t hots the fan the fingers get pointed at you first. The manager will exercise self preservation.

As one PL to another, Be prepared to be overwhelmed. In our market, I am the PL and also responsible for deli/rotisserie, f/c and ptc. Only time I am physically in the department is when we do audits. The company will just continue to stack more and more on you, but don't crack and give in. Rule produce with an iron fist, reach out to the vine rep, the produce wibi guide is your friend and stick to the basics. Make sure you have a great team working with you.
