What tips do you suggest for a new Fresh Lead/ Produce Lead?

Reach out to the vine rep? why? these people are just useless tattle tails. they were only hired to replace high salary fresh market managers.
run from the produce lead position. you will not be able to have all of those depts up to standard. if you care, it will drive you crazy because the job impossible.
For Produce:
- Quality, quality, quality. This includes out of dates.
- Cleanliness
For Freezers/Cooler:
- No holes
- Damages done daily
- As little product left on floor as possible
- Swept inside and out
For Deli:
- No out of dates, ever
- No holes
- Watch load limits
- Make sure those endcaps are right
It's a lot of work. You're going to hate most days. If you don't have any physical ailments yet, you will after a few weeks of having to throw Produce loads, Cooler loads, and Freezer loads on the same shift. Now that Deli and Freezers/Cooler have a fall-guy/gal, you're it, and management is quick to 'Oh that's so and so's job' it on you.

Don’t get to comfortable, you’re going to be over worked and used. Oh wait, so the position will be deleted again.
Walk around and talk a lot. That’s the most important requirement.
Not worth being a lead anymore. When the s*&t hots the fan the fingers get pointed at you first. The manager will exercise self preservation.
As one PL to another, Be prepared to be overwhelmed. In our market, I am the PL and also responsible for deli/rotisserie, f/c and ptc. Only time I am physically in the department is when we do audits. The company will just continue to stack more and more on you, but don't crack and give in. Rule produce with an iron fist, reach out to the vine rep, the produce wibi guide is your friend and stick to the basics. Make sure you have a great team working with you.
