I heard an email came out to different areas offering employees to take voluntary leave of absence with no pay. Anyone have the details? Seems like a RIF in disguise later for the people who do this.

Looks like maybe an option for those who may be struggling with Child Care during the Summer and possibly in the Fall depending on where you live. But I agree this doesn't look good where you can take off for 12 weeks. It shows easily you are really not needed and when operating expenses need to be cut (which is every year), they can use this against you. With medical leave not as easy for them.
Look at what was posted in another forum topic. Can you believe this. It sounds like they want to furlough but want to make it appear as if you requested it of your own free will. If this is real and you accept it, you will be laid off.
"In addition to the Reduced Full Time Schedule opportunity we communicated last week, we would like to share with you a new program. The COVID-19 Voluntary Leave of Absence Program is designed to address business needs regarding reduced work volumes while providing you with the option to have time away from work during the summer months.
This program is available effective immediately. You can request a Voluntary Leave of Absence (VLOA) of 1 – 12 weeks of unpaid time. Please send an email to your direct leader if you are interested in participating in this program, including your requested dates."
I was once pressured by my manger to take a medical leave b/c of a minor instance. I said I was fine, just wanted them to know. Later regretted this. Medical leave, voluntary leave, bad employee survey’s is a way to target people.
What departments are offering voluntary leave?
Almost speachless. UHG is offering voluntary leave of absence to get names to lay off later on as in probably 1-2 weeks after your voluntary "leave of absence" takes place.
I have never seen a company so desperate to get rid of employees. I hope your A.I. and Ireland people can handle the work they receive credit for which is done by US...the people your laying off or finding creative ways to get people to leave.
I agree that it seems like an RIF in disguise. That's why I am not taking it. Plus our calls have been jumping. Why would they offer this now?
