Recalls in NJ

My store is opening back up on June 15th. While I don’t know if I’ll be recalled (yet), is it possible to be exempted if you are or live with someone immunocompromised (in this case my mom) and remain furloughed?

Probably all depends if you are a union store or not.

People who are needed and do the work and willing to do whatever is asked, are most important and will be the first called back. They say you can technically refuse twice. I would not advise more than one refusal and only if you have legit concerns. They are weeding out the lazy and unproductive where possible. As far as unemployment benefits are concerned, it depends solely on the state you work in. Some will allow you to refuse and collect, others will not.

These people responding are full of BS. You get two calls, first one you say no for whatever reason and the VPSM will have a convo with you. The convo is telling you I don’t know when you’ll get another call. As of now the next call will be Aug/Sep maybe a lot of things moving with that. Second time you get a call and say no, you will be told an ASKHr case will be entered and you can either take an LOA or resign.

I don't think you'll lose unemployment or your job necessarily. I refused phase 1 callback bc I have a parent over 65 who has an immune system condition. I remained on furlough with unemployment benefits. Second phase is a mystery. You might need FMLA. when your store manager calls, ask lots of questions (they lie by omission frequently. Mine did not tell me I could refuse first callback until I brought it up thanks to the info I gleaned from this board. They don't want you to know what you're entitled to bc it doesn't benefit them). After you talk to store manager, if you're not getting a straight answer (don't forget they lie), try calling LOA for more info.

Depends on your state my state says you can refuse work if you have someone at hosk risk at home or 65 and over

Depends on your state workforce commission, but I believe if you decide to stay home you may lose your unemployment benefits.
