Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Get ready for PTO SHAM..

As a manager we are being told that all PTO requests will be coming to us from our colleagues and we’re being told by the VPSM to deny them. I was told as an executive who was furloughed for 4 weeks that we cannot take a full week of PTO at once and we have to break up our vacations only. My VPSM might be full of it, I entered an ASKHR case and will update but that’s the message so far. Might be a little illegal to dictate when and how employees can take their earned vacations, just saying. VPSM stated the insite message was to show face by the company but on his level they are being told to deny, and break them up for coverage... it never ends with this company, one person doing five jobs...

Salaried executives don't earn pto the same as hourly colleagues (eye roll).

The Store Managers are doing and saying what they are told to say. I posted about this a while ago and people got nasty about it. As usual with this company, they always tell us to tell our colleagues one thing, but then they don't back it up. So don't think it is your store manager making it up because he/she is not. This is what they are in fact being told to say and do. The pto request notification emails are still rolling to sales managers who are furloughed. So they can't go in and deny. I am sure you all have received the message regarding unearned PTO days and they removed them from our balances. Technically we have not earned those days yet so we need to stop with the entitled attitude. Read the policy. The only thing we have earned is the average hours that play into how much total time you will earn towards your PTO.

This is the problem, "UPS is hiring ". How about trying to be the change and stand up against something you know is clearly wrong. The VPSM's behavior just leave room to breathe bad behavior which turns into years of abuse. Everyone should be tired of these wrongs and stand up. As you can see, everyone has a voice as difficult as it can be.
