Verizon Atrocities - MAMs pay the price

To all the Major Accounts Managers-> thanks so much for your hard work. By the way, in case you didn't see the memo, we are demoting you. And, if you want your old job back, you'll have to apply. Who cares if you did it before and were successful. Enjoy the small to medium business space. If you survive. Enterprise is for the closers.

What is happening to MAMs? They were moved out of their account base. The new account base they were given couldn't support anything. Many were forced on to PIP and took medical leave to avoid termination. Then a new posting for a MAM position was created for the very account base that the MAMs were moved off of. Then the MAMs were not moved back to support these accounts they are being asked to apply to their old positions. Apply to the very accounts they used to support. Accounts that they still have existing relationships and contacts with. The MAMs look like they were abandoned, left to drown. The existing SMB MAM decks are very very weak. I think its funny. I hope they stand up for themselves.. go public, join a union.. or something. Don't just roll over and take it.

Haven’t heard anything about the MAMs

So what exactly is happening to the MAMs? Being eliminated? Or just losing accounts to WBG and taking over smaller accounts from BAMs?

Verizon doesn't stand by their employees. If they did, they wouldn't have taken your accounts away just to turn around and give them to someone else. I think going to the union is a good idea. All sales should join in. No more push around.

Not surprised by all of this.. MAMs are worthless anyway.. I'm sure the answer ties back to Brady.

Yeah.. what is the full story. Moving reps to create a non branded demotion scheme doesn't tell everything.

So what’s the full story? MAMs demoted to what?

Lol...the only thing lazier than a MAM is a government employee.

I agree. Get rid of the dead wood. Sounds like the old poem. When I was younger I cut down the tall old trees. When I turned older I said, those tall old tress have been around for a long time. Why cut them down ? Cut down the young trees. Then the old can spread out even more.

MAMs supported National Accounts, MAMs supported local small accounts, .... I know, let's create a MAM role that supports National accounts.

What do you call it?

This is Andy Brady's baby.. take it up with him.

  • Why take it up with them? Leadership doesn't care anyway.
  • Give the MAM role to the BAMs
  • Everyone should join a union and go on strike. Verizon is out of control.
  • You'll care when it happens to you

About time. MAMs were useless, retired-in-place jobs. Get rid of all that dead wood. Going to need the savings to pay the Huawei 5G patents.
