Optum keeps cutting and cutting and cutting and those of us who are left have to continue picking up more and more work because there is simply not enough people to do everything that needs to be done. How long do they think they can keep this up? Is this just a ploy to get us to quit? Because in my case it might be working.

I was with aetna in woodland hills california as an account administrator there.
Same thing going on there. What makes it worse is the fact that the people you work with only
look out for themselves unless they are you friend. Do not apply to that place.
I am sure whatever you experienced here is ten times worse at that particular locatiion.
I honestly believe the RIF is revolved around when the over sea contractors get "trained" enough to do the very basics. I completely agree with you. This is not sustainable at all. We're only as good until the next layoff.
I think it’s disgusting that this company has chosen to bully, over work, and tell people they are worthless. Why not say their business model is changed and lay people off properly with integrity? It’s abusive to work here, people can’t just walk away from 10-20+ years of working here.
I had a manager tell me "people are not leaving enough" so yes it is.
