Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Is it time to call the union?

How is this even legal? I just need solid numbers. And did you catch any movement to part time is permanent. Just offer VSP and let us go.

Offer severance, the same one they did 2 years ago. 3 weeks pay for every year worked and 1 year of benefits for the transition. I know many reps In NYM that have 15+ years that would jump at this.

I knew sooner or later some uninformed id–ts would bring up the union. They can't change what Verizon is offering. Come on get a brain. The union is not going to get you better pay, or different hours. You lose money but get zilch.

Make it a collect call, because after you do, all the union is going to do is take your money and ignore you.

That boat sailed a long time ago if we were gonna unionize it shouldve been done by now. They already screwed us. We wont unionize and vzw will continue making retail employees look more and more like dollar tree or target employees. If you want an individual contributing sales job go to telesales lol

They knew they were basically telling top sales reps to kick rocks

These are facts. Sms, GMs, AMs & DOSs are not even gonna feel a pinch, just frontline workers. They’ll just say, Oh we’re in the same boat as you guys are, try & ask.

No, I’m not a union spy. I wish we had a union in our area.

We’re years behind in union representation, but it could still be done. Organize your store. Let’s walk out when stores open back up again.

DMs, GMs, SMs, and HR know this is purely
exploitative. Call them out on it. Destroy that survey. Nobody from the upper echelons of management is getting a pay cut...
