What did you expect? Universal had extra labor and a really good plan. SeaWorld did it all on a shoe string budget and are trying to run minimal amount of labor. Its not like our reputation can get hurt any worse. If this happened during the AB days....we would be the gold standard. Now, we are a really big Fun Spot with k–ler whales. We had to do enough to check the Mayor and Governor's box to reopen. Mission accomplished.
"SeaWorld Orlando had signage everywhere about the rules and the new procedures. From going to Universal Orlando and to Disney Springs, I can also state that SeaWorld had more safety announcements and rule boards than their competitors. But signage and announcements are not a replacement for enforcing rules.
This is where we noticed a major error in the system. There was simply no one enforcing the rules."
This is what happens when you cut staff to the point they have done and think that just putting signage out is the solution. Sure you don't have to pay 15 bucks an hour for that sign, yet it s—s at actually doing anything beyond being a paperweight.
