Rumors from upper management saying that tire department in many locations is going to close for good .. any other clubs hearing rumors like this ?

I hate to break it to you, but you (we) are in no position to make threats. The decision on when to open, if at all, has got nothing to do with you being unhappy. Zero. Go now.
They won't be missed. Shut it down.

All the tire techs in my club told management if tires wasn't opening by the end of the month they are walking out
Third party sounds good to me.
I do not understand why the company doesn't take this opportunity to eliminate tires most of them are not profitable and it is just one member complaint after another. they should close then down and use the area for club pickup and online sales.
Rent the space to a 3rd party to run. No liability and a monthly paycheck. No insurance cost due to a wheel coming off while driving down the road!
Our tire shop is opening tomorrow
No oil changes coming. They would have to dig pits in the bays. Not going to happen. Too expensive.
Heard rumors of tires going away in certain markets. Most of our equipment is out dated. Hard to compete with discount tires and other big chain companies. Hopefully no oil changes coming. A lot of liability for servicing cars. Our people couldn't handle that.
Tire department will be expanded in order to provide quick lube service for our valued members.
My club's tire department opens back up tomorrow, I haven't heard any rumors recently, But I do know we are getting a remodel in July and I have heard that they are supposed to be putting in a cooler an freezer up front and the only space we would have would be tire department, so we'll see, I don't think they are closing for good, But with this company you never know.
No rumors heard. Sams has so much money invested in tires.not going to happen.
