Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

Nepotism!!!Harassment!! Systemic marginalized treatment

This company is lethal with nepotism . It’s a family and friends, sh– show. Not what you know but who you’re related to or having an affair with. Harassment, is tolerated and swept under the carpet!

It’s obvious it hurts to hear the truth

They “hide” from creating nepotism by having their friends hire their sons/nephews/ex-girlfriends . In return, that person will hire the other person’s son/nephew/ex-girlfriend. Or often executives have their co-executives hire their children/friends, etc. And yes, most of them have zero experience coming in, are overpaid and lazy. I’m sure this isn’t true throughout the company. But that’s the history I’ve seen.

There was lots of nepotism at Spectra Energy, which carried over to Enbridge. I saw relatives of higher ranking individuals appointed to positions that they were not remotely qualified for. No education. No experience.

Yes Enbridge is the same. Entire generations of family working in the company. It can work well and it can be bad. But who would not try to get a family member a job if they could. Not to many young people get jobs without some kind of connection. Its the way the business world works.

I would never hesitate to do the same thing

Entire families work for UG. In some cases it good because they have practical skills and knowledge that's been passed down, but in most cases it's just people getting in mo–n relatives or spouses.

I’m black and I was told to leave the company because there are other opportunities out there. It was so hurtful because I’ve been told told to leave the country I was born In numerous times by strangers. No matter what we do, we will never belong. I’m changing industries once COVID is over.

Something is happening. The second blacklives matter post has just been deleted.

Yup. Unlike some of the posts under the “Black Lives Matter” heading (which site administrators removed on June 17, 2020), this post doesn’t ring true.

Although nepotism has undoubtedly occurred at Enbridge, it is not the enormous issue that s-xism and racism are.

  • across several countries lol.

Everyone thinks they’re awesome, but guess what, not everyone is.

Maybe take a look in the mirror before pointing fingers.

I know COVID is making people crazy, but perhaps you should be thankful you are even employed, many aren’t.

Which part of the business are you in? I don't think you should be painting the whole organization of 15,000 people with the same brush.
