Was once VERY proud to call myself a Xeroid. In my last 5 years at Xerox, I was done. Got into a decent paying position, then rebadged at HCL, the writing was on the wall. As soon as I heard of the Severance, I hung on to the end.

So glad I did. The current Senior management created a mess and the customers are NOT happy...not that Senior management cares...

Xerox Mojo was once known as a fast paced, dynamic, innovative, social, affirmative and environmentally conscious company that embraced and empowered it’s employees to produce quality products proud to be Xerox.
Today that Mojo is dead, dead ,dead a thing of the distant past.

When I was at Xerox I saw experienced, qualified engineers who were doing a good job laid off. They were replaced by H1B’s who didn’t know their a$$ from a hole in the ground. Don’t tell me they had to use H1B’s because they couldn’t find qualified engineers. They had the qualified engineers & they got rid of them to hire the H1B’s! It was money, not quality that they were looking for.

Spoken like someone who has never worked with H1Bs. You get what you pay for, low end engineers. You must not have looked hard enough, or offered enough money to attract quality. Plenty of native talent out there if you actually want it. The US has no shortage of tech grads. But hire low quality, pack them in apartments, and hold them hostage so they can't leave the company without having to return to India. You must be management, can't resist borderline slaves.

"Sure, unemployment in double digits but we need "skilled" H1B workers. It's all about cost, certainly not quality."

Spoken like a person who has never had to find technical people. There aren't enough technical people for the number of jobs, at least pre-covid. That has been the reason for years we've been forced to go H1B. The laws actually make that a more expensive option.

Outsourcing is a different beast. When jobs are shipped to India, that is all about cost.

Unfortunately many tech companies, including Xerox, need H1B to survive. Not because they are cheaper, but because we can't find qualified Americans. For the last decade or more it's been a good market for engineers. Most of the top talent want to work for a growing company or one perceived to be working cutting edge technology. That isn't Xerox. So we struggle to hire, and have to look at H1B.

Oh my God guys, I'm out of Xerox 18 months, only come on here out of morbid curiosity to see what's happening.
But if people reply to a tread "As a company has Xerox lost its Mojo?" And treat it as a serious question then it's got pretty grim.
Stop being gloomy, if you get out of Xerox what the hell, do your best enjoy life.
If you stay in Xerox what the hell, do your best, enjoy your life. Soon Xerox will right size where the business can support its overheads and there is a chance of prosperity
Either way it's a destiny you should embrace.

Most certainly. When the only reason for a company’s existence is to ensure C level executives and a corporate raider get their dough, you know it’s completely Mojoless.
