Thread regarding JPMorgan Chase & Co. layoffs

'Being silent is being complicit':

Minorities at JP Morgan are “first fired, last hired”, They lose work early, it is really an elitist revolving door environment, why? Here we have a very competent professionals losing their jobs at a greater rate, based on my prior experiences black, and latino employees consistently earn less than white workers.
But it is also true that black Americans earn less at every education level than comparable whites, and that black workers continue to be underrepresented why is that?

Does not match my experience at Chase. I have over 20 years experience in my job. They are hiring minorities with no experience and immediately promoting them to the same level as me, then asking me to train them. In my department the minorities seem to be the privileged ones. It's really annoying to constantly have to listen to all the whining from self-proclaimed victims.

This is true and why pay details are not published due to disparity. Statistics have also confirmed the original posters statement. I know an AVP who is making $70K in comparison to peers making $100k with comparable tenure and education. When these matters are evident during comp planning they do go unaddressed

In reference to your “black” comment must feel good to be in your skin and feel empowered to tell people to get over everyday life mistreatment and disparities.

Complete BS. I don't know where you work, but it's not Chase. Here is an idea, try making a difference with your brains and contributions. Stop being a victim and do something meaningful. Your black? So what. Entitles you to NOTHING. Shut up and contribute.

This is not true of the two departments I worked in. Yes you were asked to work hard but I saw we were all equally treated.
