Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Good guys wear Black

Looks like a winning combination, UP has acquired more business from the e commerce giant Amazon. On the surface this seems like an uplifting story for employees ,but like they say, "the devil is in the details". Now Im not one for conspiracy theories, but something about this article did not sit right with me, and so I went looking for answers, I went searching for the truth. After a grueling six and a half hour Google deep dive I had found what I was looking for, and it was time to come up for air.

First of all Im sure most of you know that Vanguard Inc and BlackRock are both major shareholders in UP. There actually in the top 4, now here is where it gets interesting, guess what two Investment firms are also in the top 4 of Amazon? You guessed it, Vanguard and BlackRock. I found this to be quite a coincidence, and perhaps a conflict of interest. You decide and lets have an open discussion on your thoughts.

I guess I missed the coincidence part. I agree with the other person about Blackrock and Vanguard. Those firms are affiliated with a huge amount of companies. Amazon and UP both treat their employees poorly, so its no surprise they're talking to each other more. They have a lot in common.

It’s “their” own cars.

Amazon will use UP until it buys them out. Piece by piece. It will all start with Amazon using there own cars, then locomotives, and sooner or later they will own 51 percent of UP.

Black rock and vanguard are the top 4 shareholders in basically every single company there is. Due to 401k mostly. Move along. Nothing to see here

Yikes that means the people left here will be making $15.00 per hr and the hr people will be busy because everyone will be resigning. Can’t wait, the place will melt down because most of the younger people will not work here with the way they treat people. Probably eventually there will be a lot of bicycle trails due to closed rail lines. If trucking companies are allowed to operate larger trailers then this will have a significant impact on RR’s. This is currently a serious issue for RR’s.
