Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Hudson Site Likely Closed Until Spring 2021

Hearing that with COVID continuing, high success of Hudson site moving to remote, and winter there is no urgency or need to rush back into the Hudson site. Limited new hire classes in different departments and maintenance of the company's largest and main server block which is housed there being the only real accesses to the building along with building security.

There is not expected to be entrance allowed for any other employees for any reason. Tech equipment and ergonomic needs will either be shipped to employees' homes or meeting at a neutral location with management team to "deliver".

There is no risk of closing of this site due to main serves housed there and low impact from layoffs to departments there.

Still doesn’t mean Hudson claims won’t be impacted.

Does it really make sense to rush back to a location during a pandemic and put in all the mask requirements, social distancing of desks, bathroom schedules, one way hallways, and all the rest of the rumored hardships to be put into place when 95% of employees are working comfortably and safely in their homes. Only issue we have had is a few people faking internet issues and faulty equipment to get paid days off without having to use PTO. Those bad eggs have been and will be handled individually but the vast majority of Hudson employees have been great during all this.

Claims and regional based agency sales managers and TSLs are the department's most likely to have impacts from the lay offs in the Hudson campus. Allstate owns Hudson campus and it is a main location. Seems OP is saying due to everyone working well from home, continuing pandemic and winter being near when campus may be able to reopen there is no real need to hustle back into the building.

Where is this information coming from? Hudson campus is a large facility to keep opened for servers. Allstate does own the building though. Low impact to departments? How true is this statement?
