Why is a pre-pay card statement still being generated when no longer an employee?

Thank you! Being pre-pay mine is at $0. I just found it odd.
Ummmm..because the last statement still has a closing date and has to account for all purchases and payments on that billing cycle. My prepay card allows me to actually charge up to about $30 more than paid at any one given time so I might still have a small payment, or sometimes a small overage that I can spend or request a refund of that overpayment.....
