I'm at VBG, corporate, 15 years in, stuck in middle management and dying for a package so I can go do something more fulfilling. Please tell me there are some layoffs coming.

I know the person who made this post is a middle manager because all they care about is their own bottom line. Of course they expect a generous severance too.
You're the reason why the firm lays people off, OP.
Secretary of State?
SOS every year more lay offs for all Americans that built the company.
Deep cuts are being discussed now across the entire organization. Some groups , like retail stores, will have to reduce headcount by up to 40% AT&T just gutted entire groups with no option to find other jobs in the company. .
Like those who got “surpluses” at AT&T, I’m sure many of our Verizon folks won’t be so happy to leave. Have a little compassion. There are hard times ahead for many.
Middle management. It’s like a half dozen steamers, 2 glasses of wine, and a pack of dentyne. I know what you mean
What about a transfer to a less demanding department? Mid-State figured out a way to hide the “dead weight”. Qualifications, you have to have no drive, you have to pretend or actually know nothing about the job, and be able to hold a shovel or a flag. Starting pay, 100,000 dollars plus vacation, 401k, ok medical... This Union manhandles the company .. UNION/BIDEN 2020!!!
Ignore the bitter posters below, I totally get it. I feel the same way... been here a long time, it’s time to move on and since the company is looking to cut expenses, why not benefit from it via a package? It’s a win-win.
I’m really hoping for a VSP this fall, off payroll in Dec or Mar.
Seriously, if you hate your job that much, start looking for something else that’s better. If you find it,run. If you don’t just be happy you have a decent paying job and continue the search.
No, I totally see the point of this union troll post. Life is short, if you are not happy, quit. And - NO EISP FOR YOU!
Some missing the point. Employees that want to or who are ready to leave would hate to leave now only to hear that in a few weeks or months if they would of waited to leave, they would of receive a severance pay around $100k
Why do you need to be mean?
Why do you not see the benefit of a larger payday?
Why do you need a handout to leave? What a loser.
You are only stuck only because you chose to be stuck. You can leave at any time. No one is stopping you. Those that want something better don't use the excuse of waiting for something to happen. I don't understand why people feel that complaining about having a job they don't enjoy and blaming a company is somehow the company's fault. Most importantly, there are millions without jobs right now and would be more than happy to fill your seat. If you're that unsatisfied, post your resume and find another job and leave on your own terms. No one forced you to stay here for 15 years.
If there are massive layoffs, I am sure those people who either like their job or really need their job will find solace in the fact you found fulfillment. Eejit.
