Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

PAY WAGES TO MATCH COMPETITION?

Target starts at $15 a hour nationwide for the lowest position.
Publix and Kroger are giving out bonuses to ALL employees.
Sam’s and Costco start at a minimum of $14 to gather carts.
The list goes on and on.
Loyalty is beginning to run thin when it comes to money! BBB starts cashiers at $9.72 per hour and are topped out at $12.50 per hour.
All hourly positions within the company have the employees grossly underpaid. I thought Tritton was suppose to help out company? Employees? Image?
Something better happened soon or the national walk out will happen as scheduled.

They’ll never adjust our pay to what now appears to be market rate. They can’t afford it.

BBB is not thriving like the other businesses that you have mentioned, they can't afford to pay their employees competitive wages.

Target is thriving. Not cutting hours. Get a clue.

I work for Publix and we have received 100.00 gift card so far 3 times since March! Smart as the money goes right back to them and associates get free groceries!! I love this Company!

My son works at Target and nobody in his store got their hours cut. BBB not is not compensating employees with higher pay for working in the pandemic but they are drastically cutting hours and staff. So the employees that are left are getting paid like garbage and also treated like garbage.

So yes target raised their starting wage to $15/hr. They also slashed everyone’s hours so they’re not making any more money than they did at $10 or $12/hr. I guess that leaves them enough time to go get a second job though.

Then why not go to one of those chains? When posters post that type of info nobody knows if it is true or not. People are often posting things without any validation. And what is the point? To complain? And then complain some more? Then to have others join you with complaining?

Bbb will never do this. It’s a failing company.

If you can’t afford to pay a $15/hour starting salary in this day and age you don’t deserve to be in business. Period. If your business model depends on underpaying your staff you need a new business model, because you’re admitting that your business model is so flawed it’s the only way you can survive.
