I am in NZ and was told myself and a handful of Kiwis have one more week left. I worked for PDIT before shifted into OIT and now let go after a long time. I had a mission critical project and worked extra time to get it done just few days ago. Very surprised.

Oracle is definitely getting rid of people in Australia, those who work in Sales in the Cloud space. They are all being placed on gardening leave for 4 or 5 weeks then they are gone all together. All should be gone by 31st August just in time for their presentation where they can whitewash the fact that their losses was due to staff turnover.
If ORCL sells business units the cash won't go into LE's pocket, it goes to the company, The only way he can cash out is by selling his stock. He can do that gradually but at some point he loses control of the company.
He would have to sell the whole company at once, and shareholders would have to be paid in cash. That's also not going to happen.
If LE stock holdings are going to turn into cash or more durable securities in his lifetime, they have to pump and dump. Sell whatever they can. If he started selling much ORCL, price tanks. Needs to be acquired. Companies positioning for acquisition ALWAYS pare costs to make segments look viable. Always.
Cashing in would be a nice 76th birthday present to himself.
Australian here, at least they let your RSU's vest, would be some capital gain still from those 2015 issues?
Australia
Typical Oracle style

They got what they needed out of you. Good job! Now here's your reward...
Oh, if they've got to Oceania region, any word on staff in Australia?
Oracle is doing the impossible to improve the look of its quarterly reports to be published on Sep. 15.
It wants its cloud department to look profitable and appealing for prospective investors and clients.
Microsoft cloud, and the IBM cloud have shown gains, Oracle must do likewise.
More layoffs could be made to achieve this objective.
