Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Tom Wilson layoff announcement

Anyone else wonder if TW slipped up when he announced the layoffs on that town hall?

Even from the most selfish point of view, this has cost the company lost productivity, bad pr, and I’m sure a ton of questions from all levels to the C-Suite.

How stupid! Different HO department leaders told their people about the layoffs 2 days before the town hall. TW read the same script verbatim.

Wouldn’t it be ironic if Wilson actually had been drinking prior to that town hall, and after 5-6 drinks, he accidentally let too much information out, bring us to present!?

Interestingly as well, we have really heard much from him since this meeting. No more “just checking in” emails.

Shapiro, Brandt, and regional leaders seem to be conducting all the town halls/company meetings now.

Considering TW was slurring and stuttering like a drunken sailor during that town hall he probably didn't even know what he was saying. The guy is a millionaire lush. You should have seen him staggering around at Disney 3-4 years ago.

He was almost nonchalant when he made the announcement during the townhall.

Yes!! I think announcing that Allstate was moving forward with the Transformative Growth plan was approved however I believe he was a little to comfortable and said things that were problematic. This is why the tape was never released and notes weren't provided. Now they have to make certain that the implementation is done correctly. Just my opinion.

Not to mention shareholder concerns & stock value. Good point.
