I stay dumbfounded as to why employees of a company complain too much about said company. CVX has good salaries (not the top), great 401, great pension (good luck getting one with another company).
If you are unhappy why not just leave? You don’t leave because a better company than Cvx does not want you.....

Chevron is an awesome company to work for. Great pay and benefits. If you are so miserable leave someone will gladly take your place you are just a number. Chevron is a business and they run it like a business, layoffs are a business decision nothing more or less. STOP B–chING
Pretty obvious. I think everyone here is complaining because there is a possibility they will get laid off and wouldn't be so bitter if they had job stability. Or are we suppose to be grateful and love thy company until that day comes? Thank you Mr Company Man.
Yes, I’ve just protected myself from being left standing in the next PDC. I updated my demographics on The HR site. I changed my race From white to black, I am also going to announce I am g– on workplace just before they make their decisions on who is going and who is staying.
That way, I can sue for discrimination if I’m let go.
That’s right. I’m not knocking the company for the pay and the benefits, which are great. I get upset with the company when there’s very little accountability and far too much social engineering going on.
I agree, chevron pays higher than average salaries, but what pisses me off is how unfairly employees are ranked, people being put on a pedestals who shouldn’t be there. They only real skill they have is they make good PowerPoint presentations And have the gift of gab.
Seriously, that is how you get promoted. Oh, it also helps if your a woman or minority. Seriously, why are they even tracking that c-ap. I saw it reported on a townhall meeting today.
Promotions should be based on merit and not Affirmative action.

If I wanted to write about what a great place Chevron is to work I would do it in workplace and get a gold star for my efforts... I come here to let off steam and hear rumors (some of which have proven very accurate)... your mileage might vary so obviously take everything here with several grains of salt. I have also learned a few benefit optimization tips, but only by reading through a whole lot of nonsense.

Yeah, agree. CVX is a great company, this site is populated by entitled personalities, it is not the norm among the people I work with.
