I am not sure of the exact name, but I plan to join the Chevron Retirees group when I retire this year if my EOI is accepted. Does anyone have experiences with the group they would like to share? Do you get much benefit, other than connecting with other retirees?

Recently retired - early EOI. Ambivalent about CRA. Yes, they MAY be able to give Chevron insight, but today LinkedIn is probably more informative.

This sounds like a great organization. There are many companies that don’t honor retirees but treat them like they have been fired.
Are you sure this ain't a 12 step rehab group, to help people transition into the real world?

It is enjoyable low cost, low time commitment group called Chevron Retirees Association (CRA). Good updates on CVX retiree benefits. Quarterly luncheon (non-pandemic timeframe) with Chevron speakers (Public Affairs, Global Lubricants, et/ al/), CRA also funds college scholarships. and provides links to volunteer activities.

It is an old fashioned org from the old days of Chevron. Even Chevron has lost interest to the point that last year at the Christmas lunch they didn’t send the CEO but instead stuck them with a complete low level stooge from GOM.
I don’t have personal experience. But I have retiree friends who tell me they attend the annual Christmas holiday dinner where they invite the CEO as a keynote speaker. I look forward to joining them soon where I can doze off and nap if I want to.
