What was the general view of him as a President at Esurance and what exactly is him role
at Allstate ?

Both him and Eric Brandt were solid and well liked at Esurance
I'm sure the full conversion to Allstate will ruin the guy.

Role with allstate seems to just be a transition/paper role
I never heard of him so I am going to assume disgustingly overpaid, incompetent, and dumb as toast by default.
