I know it was a tough job deciding who to keep and who to let go... And also having to work the entire period during the pandemic... But I also think bonuses are in the same category as raises and should not be applied to our store managers when there were so many of us were layed off and the remaining be given 10 times the duties. It's more of an expectation for the store manager to work harder than all of us and then to be given a reward? Ridiculous!

Got in to it with my store manager today. End result = Yep she got a bonus. Almost took a swig of our tequila smelling hand sanitizers after hearing that! There are some things we should not know because you will be p-ss-d! If you're truly itching to find out, press your boss and find out for yourselves! FML and F Macys! Peace out!
If you asked me, that's how our store manager chose who to keep. It really didn't matter how much you got paid, your years of service, your experience, or your age. It's the ones who would give the least amount of flack when told you will be given more work upon returning or the restructuring. True, the ones that have the most experience, may be older and may be the ones most likely to voice their opposition to the immense amount of work handed to them with no additional pay. Others may just be plain vocal. None the less, the store manager strategically chose the ones who will believe her pep talk to stay, or your limitless potential in the company. In other words TO MAKE THE STORE MANAGER JOB THE EASIEST DURING HER CUTS. And believe me, we now got some dummies in our store. Enjoy your steak dinner and night on the town. You deserve your well earned bonus for choosing wisely. C'mon grow a pair of ballls and keep the good ones for once.
How in the hell could my store manager be awarded a bonus when she does nothing but sit in her office, and when she does emerge, she speaks to people like they're utter garbage! She gets a bonus for the ten managers she drove out of the store bc they couldn't take her anymore? She gets a bonus for that? Are you f—ing kidding me? It's not even about money (though it's part of it) it's the fact that she is being awarded for treating people like they are worthless useless sh–! AND we don't make plan or LY anyway!
LYING SACK OF KRAP. JUST CONFRONTED MY STORE MANAGER AND YES HE GOT A BONUS. F– THIS SSHITT AND HIS MINIONS WHO DRANK HIS KOOL-AID. HOPE THE ADDITIONAL $ YOU EARNED COMPENSATES FOR THE PEOPLE YOU NOW MUST MOTIVATE TO WORK THE JOBS YOU'VE JUST ELIMINATED.
is this why we cannot see our paychecks in Insite for this pay period?
Yes Lord, we pray this is not in all stores or any store at all! For the way "the store manager" has grossly treated us, help us Lord God!
All the hard work never acknowledged. However, the only thing that matters is what's done in your name. God hears and answers prayers everyone. Keep the faith.
Dear God please tell me this isn't in all stores. Please tell me this bc my store manager deserves a swift kick in her a–, not a bonus. Oh God the thought of her being rewarded for how she's treated us....
It is true. VPSMs will be tight lipped about it, but think about it. How else do you think they would continue to motivate the staff to come to work everyday with the additional duties and less bodies? The bonus was their motivation. "You're the best of the best and we need you to come back." "We know you can do it." "You've proven it in the past and the added duties will be a piece of cake". "You'll be doing the same thing, but just a different title".
How it’s always been and how it always will be with Macy’s. We get nothing for our hard work so no point in even talking about it. Yada yada yada——be thankful you have a job b—s— we get told. I’m so over it and have no expectations to receive anything greater than the 15 cents they couldn’t afford to give us this year. Can’t impact the bonuses they all just received. (Sarcasm).
It was close to 30,000 store employees that lost their jobs. That 3,900 corporate number was not the actual number. It just sounded better in the press release.
I heard it was all from corporate not store manager who got laid off.
