Raise your hand? What is this, grade school? Well, it IS Chevron after all. Not much difference in maturity or behavior.
Even if you do EOI, and don't apply for jobs you can still be suggested as candidate for one. But as one poster pointed out, unlikely.
This time around, if you raise your hand, you will get EOI for sure. If you are not sure, it only means you dont hold a position that is business crucial otherwise you would already know it. You can talk hypothetical scenario all you want but the reality is different.
You have got to have a real unique skill or indispensable trait for them to not release you.
If you ask for it, you will likely get it.

I think the number or EOIs not accepted will be few and far between.
In these round, when you express interest it is clear in the instructions that you do not even have to apply for jobs, you can just leave them blank, so your wish will be granted.

No change at all. The company is literally offering the possibility of giving a truck load of money to people to leave as an incentive so they can reduce headcount/G&A costs. Staying doesnt make you disloyal, since you didnt get any money. It means you need income like everyone else to feed your family. No hard feelings at all. Now if you stay and b!t@h and moan about not getting a package, people will think your an a–hole given that people loast jobs, so maybe dont go advertising you asked and groan about it. Just my opinion bro. That being said, Chevron is not dependent on any 1 guy in the company, so its doubtful your a Big Swinging D in any function you work in, so i doubt it will come to that.
