Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

3 1/2 months - That's how long we will have been strung along

So TW's town hall meeting where he dropped the hammer telling us there would be thousands of layoffs happened on June 11, 2020. And we'll all know our fate by September 30, 2020. So that's three and half months of wondering and worrying if we will have jobs. How much more cruel and uncaring can a company be? TW and GS should really stop and think about that. They are playing with people's lives and livelihoods for that long.

You guys should have worked for Esurance in our CA office. Talk about being strung along with what if's, maybes and no real information shared. We were told a about a year a half prior to the Allstate bomb drop taking us over that CA is an expensive place to do business (no Allstate claims offices in CA anymore since March 2019, FYI). More information coming "soon" about restructuring and similar "exciting" changes and Kool-Aid delivery. Similar town hall meetings regurgitating the same original powerpoint with no new information (a la Eric Brandt) right about the time employees kind of settled down and forgot about the pending changes to come just to get us all worked up again and worried about the unknown.
ESU laid off 100 underwriters quietly, closed down our Denver claims office and sent employees to work remotely. Queue another email from the CEO offering no new information, but more changes will be announced "soon".
ESU added free cereal in our break room, started some employee recognition group where we had to stand around and listen to props given to other employees to get some free food once a month. It appeared to be an attempt to squelch the max exodus of claims employees that started.
Oh and no chance of advancement in CA as no jobs offered in CA any longer. If you wanted to advance, you could apply for it in another state, at a lower pay band.
I didn't think the situation could get worse, but props to Allstate, they succeeded. Let's see if they can break the year and half of wondering the CA Esurance employees went through, oops, it's not over, just has a different name now.

It’s going to be a great holiday season for Tom, Eric, and Glen singing by the Xmas tree at their mansions while we look in their windows from the outside cold and hungry .

Hey, well at least Wilson, Shapiro, and Brandt will still have big bank accounts.
