Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

I give up!

I give up! Do we not have a group to speak to. I feel like I have lost all hope. I am terrified of losing my home and my car. I have worked hard to be able to provide for my daughter. I cant keep performing at 100 percent, while I am dying inside. I loved my job as a Unrep Adjuster. I am terrified of the future. I cant eat, cant sleep. I'm diabetic and all I am doing is drinking and crying . This anxiety and stress has broke me. Is this a bad dream? This is the greatest depression ever. Do I live or do I die??

Don't let them win. Allstate is not worh losing your health and family. I have been here for 25+ years and everyone I know that has left Allstate - either quit or fired - has found another job and done well.

The op isn’t the only one getting counseling.. I am as well.. I wonder truly how many people are having mental health issues.. all the meditation and wellness offerings in the world can’t offset their heartless and immoral decisions ..

I do hope that the Allstate Board of Directors and upper mgmt see this post. What Allstate is doing to their employees is sinful. You have someone that is so desperate that they may need counseling. Tom and Glenn should not be sleeping at night knowing this. But I'm sure they're just fine - ain't nothing going to bother them while they're rolling around in their hundreds dollar bills. SMH

Hopefully this person's leader is checking in. The LifeWorks information is extremely helpful. For those that are in an immediate critical need there are the crisis and s–c-de prevention lines. The National S–c-de Hotline is : 1-800-273-8255.

Talk to someone immediately. Vent, share, cry and scream if you have to. It's an important part of healing to express yourself. Please call a trusted friend or family member. You can set up some days of the week to touch base (even when you're not in the mood). It's important to stay connected, especially now. As someone who has come out on the other end - just remember this is a temporary feeling. You will have a day again where you'll laugh authentically and feel content. It doesn't feel like that now but your mind is playing a trick on you. You are a valued human being and you are not your career or a job. You're value transcends money and a 40 hour work week. When your brain tells a lie (I'm worthless/ I s—/It's better to be gone) cut it off and start telling yourself why you matter. Life is hard but don't go it alone.

It's not always helpful or beneficial to get police involved or assume someone needs to be committed. That's not always the appropriate solution. Opening up or losing anonymity here has many more implications. The US health system doesn't really exist as many expect. People need people.

Stay strong. I'm glad you are seeking medical help. You daughter needs you!

If we lose our jobs, others will come. We may need to make sacrifices, but you will still wake up the next morning and the sun will shine. Life WILL go on. It may seem hopeless today, but tomorrow is another day, and another day...and so on.

Sending healing light and hope to you.

They do not care about us at all. We are nothing but a number. We were never an asset, just a liability.

Allstate paid $172 MILLION in common dividends Q2 2020.

I hate when folks say being negative is not helping. Being in limbo is not helping either. The reality is I have responsibilities, no job effects that. Clearly I have applied for other jobs. Its a pandemic, not a lot out there. I am applying for everything I can. Thank God I save, but I aint Trumps daughter. 6 months savings goes quick. Thank you to everyone else who offered kind words. I have spoke with my doctor. I will be taking med leave if its approved.

We all feel the same way. Things will get better. Start applying now. Change your career path. Step out on faith and something will come up. Being negative is not helping.

I understand and feel the same. The stress is just overwhelming. Nobody is hiring in the area I live. My wife is handicapped and I am only source of income trying to raise two kids. Worried I will loose everything.

Please Please PLEASE, call LifeWorks, the Employee Assistance Program, NOW. The number is 1-800-635-0606. Tell them you are an Allstate employee and need to talk to a trained counselor right away. It is part of your employee benefits — 5 sessions free. No one at Allstate will ever know. The sessions are completely confidential. Please do it. Your family loves you and needs you. I am not part of HR, I promise. Just someone who knows what it is like and knows that talking to someone can help. You are not alone. 1-800-635-0606.

someone should report that to human resources, there should be a safety check for this individual, this is so unfortunate. HR Pshould be able to reach out to the site administrator and request the IP address of the poster, this is an unusual case and the mods should be able to release the IP address to the HR for the safety of the individual who is writing...

Allstate is shrinking in market share which opens more doors at Progressive, Geico, State Farm and plenty of other insurance companies. Allstate doesn’t care about people anymore. Move on and don’t look back.

Never give up under any circumstances. Your next Job may allow you to earn more and be even more rewarding. I have experienced many setbacks in life, only to have other opportunities pop up.

Its Gods way of pushing you to bigger and better things. Take a deep breath, thank god, ask him for guidance and you will have it.

Your never alone. :)

There is no job out there worth dying for. Stay strong for your daughter. Allstate is not worth your health, life, and livelihood.
