Sounds like D-day in Boulder is tomorrow (25 Aug)

I'm hearing rumors of big shakeups. Hold on to your seats

SolidFire integration failure is a good lesson learnt for the recent cloud acquisitions. Whey are we allowing an acquired startup company running a public company???

Good riddance. Solidfire/HCI is junk. And all the tribal people who came with it that can’t and wont assimilate need to go.

ONTAP has its problems, but its mature and fundamentally works. Mid 2020 and netapp still a company that primarily sells good filers. The newer cloud stuff is still kinda alpha, but combined with on-prem AFF is a good solution.

Netapp hardware has always been junk honestly...same chinese junk as everyone else though.

The “Us vs Them” mentality of SolidFire vs NetApp is exactly what made the company constantly struggle. Instead of working together to create the best offering, there are endless internal battles that waste time and resources. Politics in NetApp is out of control and needs to be addressed for the company to succeed long term.

Is anyone really surprised by this latest RIF? It's just a continuation of the Symbios/LSI/Engenio/NetApp proud tradition of twice yearly cullings since the 1990's.

Not a unique statement at all, but there is life after this place. Just take your severance, find your next job and don't look back.

This is confirmed - I guess - I’m from one of the global offices outside US and my position has been eliminated - was about to go live on some projects, too - wonder what’s gonna happen with those? Should I care?

If true, that’s 5% or the average churn number for a Fortune 500 company.

It’s not just going to be in Boulder. We have a global ax swinging tomorrow. (For all those shouting “where’s your proof?!”, you’ll have it tomorrow morning so just chill).

Good luck to all those that will be impacted.

NetApp leadership, especially Boulder is a complete disaster which has failed to propagate upright culture, values, ethics and policies. They lack vision, influence and positivity. This D day was bound to happen and will happen over and over again if nothing is changed

We sacrificed the careers of over a 100 very talented people at the Boulder Airport Blvd location to help SF all for naught. The culture simply was not there to support success.

Alll bldr does is pushback and then take wall code when they can’t figure their own c-ap out.. good riddance.

Whoever thinks Solidfire team was inept has clearly not seen the code quality, or questions people get from the rest of NetApp 😂😂. At least SolidFire used to have hiring code assignments, management made sure to get rid of those and hire anyone with a pulse

Has nothing to do with current management practices. SolidFire team was completely inept from top to bottom. There was never any commitment to deliver a solution and the work ethic was poor.

BLDR has been horribly mismanaged by a company stuck in the stone age wrt management practices. When you get told, in the 21st century, to be more waterfally, you gotta wonder how fast the company is gonna go down in flames.

Hopefully so. Bldr has been such a huge waste of resources with no yield.

If you don't have any sort of proof then this is just b—s— fear mongering. What makes you think this is going to happen?
