There will always be an AT&T, but it will be much smaller and focused. My guess is that we will be broken up in 5 years, with most of the stuff sans core network and Mobility sold off (if they can find buyers). This won’t necessarily be a bad thing, and we might even start looking like the AT&T or old that so many yearn for. No more off-shoring, and no more H1Bs muddling things up. Let’s all be hopeful.
With a big For Sale sign on most properties. Dwindled down to a wireless/streaming service with 50,000 American employees and the rest in India and other countries.
