This unethical first round of layoffs is a sign of what is to come. The company is getting rid of all the actual working knowledge and folks that do the actual work. After the next few waves of layoffs all that will be left are a bunch of do nothing, know nothing, supervisors, managers, and advisors. Folks that have spent several years sitting in meetings day in day out, creating PPTs, and shuffling papers. The entire corporation is doomed.

@1pbl+16E4ysY. You too, superdrone, you too.
Exxon = Enron?
The lack of double-digit-billion writedowns at Exxon not only this year, but also in the past decade, raises two questions: does Exxon think that oil and gas prices will ultimately rise and therefore its assets fairly valued at a later date? Or has Exxon been doing some creative accounting in valuing its assets?

@1bgc+16E4ysY1 wrong. Alternative energy sources and climate change concerns single handedly k–led the largest and most powerful PUBLICLY TRADED company in the world. Can clearly tell you belong on the PIP list. Can't even verify your nonsense before commenting...
Keep telling yourself its the management that is the root of the problem to ignore the obvious elephant in the room. Just maybe.. It was you?
Wrong, the c-ap performers are the majority of management and executive folks. How do we know? ExxonMobil just 10 years ago was the biggest and most powerful company in the world. They single handedly destroyed it and sank it. They've been at the helm of every decision made and the failure is on them.
Many of the ones let go were c-ap performers. People seem to have a way of thinking that their value is more than it really is.
@pfk+16E4ysY1 - either you are a troll, or one of the people you describe as excrement. You choose
It takes true lowlife people to come to a lay-off board and flat at people that you know many were not low performers. You let people go at the worse time and in the most terrible way. You people are truly disgusting.
@caz+16E4ysY1 I'm just glad that we got rid of the 8~10% excrement that we did. The companies poor performance is also attributed to too many people collecting a salary and providing little value in return.
Its easy to see what Exxon has become by reading the posts of parasites here to gloat. It is humorous that they feel so safe. See you next year!
Haha. Rolling the dice on a contracting industry on employment next year. You people are funny.
@lhs+16E4ysY1. Wish you the best of luck.
Oh noes! Whatever happens, I won't be on this site degrading myself lashing out in anger like a bunch of cry babies on this site are.
@jvn+16E4ysY1. Yes, it is expected. And you could be on the list as well.
Yup. I think they are doing the right thing by letting people go! More to come soon also.
@jlb+16E4ysY1. Please look at your own company and leadership first before you make claims of others.
Welcome to working in cyclic and volatile industry. Who knows, maybe many of the ones let go will join Google, Tesla, Apple to be PIP'd there also!
@abw+16E4ysY1. Please do not take pleasure at others' misfortune, who knows you might be next on the list.
@wju+16E4ysY1. What the company has done is exploit the employees and the rules. Do not blame the Congressman or the rules because the company and its leaders have very means to treat its employees better and with respect.
The ones let go are in for a real shock that the company will go on. These negative post are just angry people let go venting their frustration that they were called POOR PERFORMERS.
And letting people go via a PIP program may be unethical, but it is legal. Blame your congressman for allowing programs like this to exist.
Happy balance sheet? LMAO
@mgt+16E4ysY1 I bet you are the real s—ers who latch on the silly managers. You are the next one boot out from the company when you ca no longer parasite on your unethical boss.
Such inhumane to tolerate an unethical exercise from this downhill organisation.
It’s already happening in Singapore site. Sadly there are more locals were asked to leave instead of foreigners who are holding E/S passes not mentioning the PR. Negative sentiments are brewing towards the foreigners, just matter of time before its get exploited.
Fear monger.. we are just fine. All is well. Happy employees and healthy balance sheet to increase dividends.
