Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Just got laid off

Yep, today's the day all right. Just had my call. Sounds like it's gonna be a grim day for many. As for me, a mix of panic and relief. Was told it's all about "efficiencies" and "numbers" so my job was eliminated. Yeah, I'm sure now that they don't have to pay me my huge salary it will save the company from going broke. Ha. Good luck, all. What an insane company.

Be very very happy youre gone. Bc those that are still there are in for a rude awakening. Most will vote with their feet and sing the company song /clap and smile, but the skid marks tell a very diff story. One that is corporate US greed.

I was part of the June layoff and started with a new company last week for WAY more $$$. Work your LinkedIn network and you’ll be just fine!

Specialty laid off pharmacists that were recently reallocated to the team & were still in training/ramp up period, citing poor performance/skill/metrics.

I was laid off from ORx on 6/25/20, as was 21% of my department. They advised us it was NOT because of COVID-19 which is a big fat lie!!! How do you go up against that ???
I had been there 8 years in the Client Mgmt area. I received 10 weeks of severance and 1 week of pto.

Re: severance. I think it depends on how long you have worked here. I'm getting 5 weeks and one week's worth of unused PTO (I have much more than that accumulated). This company is definitely not known for their generosity!

I worked in the CX Strategy, Design and Analytics team which is part of the Customer Office. According to the required Job Title and Age Report provided in severance package, 17 out 31 let go within the team with a termination date of 9/10. Unfortunately I was one of them. Best of luck to all.

Blood bath across all of Optum. Deep cuts to O/I marketing, and other marketing areas. Sales, and other shared services functions... everywhere.

Because it's across the country, and probably occurring in phases, I doubt it will trigger WARN notifications to local, state or federal authorities.
