@vyw+16EMxvTv - OK, 90% is a bit of an exaggeration. But for 2016, it was estimated that about 80% of the world's energy was derived from fossil fuels - oil, gas and coal. Only 18% of that was for electricity, the rest was was transportation and heating. Despite increasing numbers of wind turbines and electric vehicles, 2020 would have still been close to the 2016 figure if COVID had not happened. By the time we get to 2023-2025, it will probably be back up there.
Pleeeeeease EM has to keep all supervisors, VPs and Presidents employed to keep the outside world away and safe from this filth.
Sure, oil and gas are not going to disappear overnight, just like coal didn't; it's still with us. As is firewood. However Wall Street rewards growth, not heft. And growth is nowhere to be found. It is going to ge a long, slow death for O&G, best case; a swift and speedy one, if the rest of the world continues on the legislative path they are on. Can't say I'm sorry either way. 90% of energy may be from fossil fuel but Exxon is not the glorious O&G company anymore. It's a rotting corporation.
