New round of layoffs 8/27/2020

Yesterday we were told about more layoffs and while my immediate team was not impacted heard many people were. Can’t trust anything at uhc/optum anymore.

I was laid off in June after 7 1/2 years. I had no idea it was coming. I got a voice mail last week from UHC asking me to call them back, they had a position open. I already have another job. I didn't bother calling them back or finding anything else about it. I dont want to start back at the bottom. I already lost my seniority, and extra vacation time, and cashed in my 401K. I dont want to work for a company that couldn't at least give me a heads up to know it was coming. No thank you.

Optum aquired or merged with Navi Health. A large prior authorization/triage LPN team (PACM) were told last week that Navi Health does not hire LPNs so that means bye Felicia. It was nice to at least get warning that the ax will fall a little at a time each quarter as more states are transitioned to Navi Health. Approx 38 LPNs will lose their job unless something else is found at UHC or move on. The team was told for the past 3 years how valuable they are and that upper management knows the worth and hard work of the team..... apparently not. What a sell out. And to add insult to injury, a Navi Health employee does not difference between a trach and vent. Yes . That is the quality deciding you or your loved one's care.

Was going to apply for a job but declined. Told them I was not interested and they call me back again and I did not respond but got a voice message saying we plan to remove you as a candidate for any further consideration. how rude. I already said I was not interested.

Layoffs in Optum have occurred each quarter since 2017, and will continue. I don’t remember a time that UHG or Optum could be trusted under our current CEO.

Our identity and culture are gone.

Executive leadership is cut throat and are relying on their leaders who have no clue what theirs teams are responsible for or what happens if the work stops because the knowledge just walked out the door.
