Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Tom Wilson- really does care about others

If you look at everything Wilson has done for Chicago and the community, it shows he really is a decent guy who cares a lot about others.

Let that sink in.

From an agencu owner prospective, it's hard to believe that Tom cares much about the agency force. Overpriced products with regular rate increases for no reason, cutting support, pricing insurance cheaper online directly through Allstate.com. Oh, and I almost forgot about the 10% commission reduction and a strong possibility that Integrated services will be mandatory which will take another 20% out of an agencies cash flow.

It's clear that Tom does not see any more growth from the agency force and is and cutting cost in the agency channel to free cash flow to invest heavily in other channels (recent acquisition of National General for their independent agency force). Despite agencies representing about 93% of the companies income.

About 2 years ago I joined the company as a new agent and invested a pretty significant amount of money. To date I have seen little return due to difficult market conditions but I'm being prompted to "lean in" and invest more but the Allstate has not given most agents any reason to believe additional investment will yield results.

If Tom Wilson cared, he would reflect on his Op Ed piece from LAST YEAR in regard to paying people what they are worth and helping to raise the salaries in the United States. Allstate did not fall from #2 in the country to #4 or 5 overnight and the company should have started to trim the ranks many years ago. People who had the bright idea of MIT, Integrated Services, wrong numbers used by actuaries for life rates, different RMP's for different regions should have been canned so that the company could have grown. Territorial Managers and Regional people who were sent to agent offices and fudged their reports should have paid the price long ago. And VP's who think the solution is to gut departments should quietly leave their offices and never come back

Also WHY!! Did Tom brag about the questionable stupid assessment and how he learned a lot about himself and what he can do better at... WE CAN'T use it as a means to learn and grow because you AREN'T giving us our scores! I want to know why you even brought that up knowing damm good abd well we won't get our results... and whats with the little chuckles? NOTHING about any if this is funny.. makes me so mad!!!! I work my a– off 60+ hours a week because the workload in claims is like slavery! and I will continue to work just as hard even if I get layed off because I am loyal unlike you!!!!

If Tom is such a good guy, he wouldn't chuckle as he tells thousands of employees that what he's putting us through is traumatic.

Good, decent, and compassionate people don't hurl insults and inflict trauma on their fellow people.

If Tom really cared he would not be laying off people in the midst of the worst pandemic in recent times. He could have waited 6 more months - that would have been charitable. If he were truly smart, he could have found a way to use this talent to accelerate his Transformative Growth strategy and then go though a reduction in force.

https://www.salary.com/tools/executive-compensation-calculator/thomas-j-wilson-salary-bonus-stock-options-for-allstate-corp?year=2019

It’s for show and tax right offs. Also it’s Allstate employees who do the volunteer work not Tom. He clearly doesn’t care about employees. He couldn’t take some of his $14 million from 2019 alone and put it back in the company? His stock options will do great to I’m sure while those of us who earned him that money and did that volunteer work in a Chicago for the company will be struggling to hold our homes and families together.

Allstate could have restructured through salary reductions or buy outs.

This is just driven by greed.

Dude, that's not Tom, that's the Allstate Corporation for tax purposes. Unless you're saying Tom is donating his personal money. If so, I'm happy to read about it.
