Another facet of the Good Old 70% OR rut!! The RIT is being run by trainmasters now- meaning there are no failures allowed and you must use the codes that management tells you to! That is even if its false or the RR's fault! Personally, I feel this again falls down to a Division level rather than Company policy. Div Supers cant have any failures showing on cars because this goes against PSR and would get them replaced/fired in a heartbeat!! Why have a tool that you do not honestly and properly use for its job? Why does NS claim to want to be a leader in "technology" when it wont use it the way it is designed? Why collect information on cars and freight movement if you do not want to hear the truth of it? Is anyone surprised by NS cant get to the 60% OR other railroads are ALL at right now?!!

Sad to see a company making money by downsizing, selling off assets, laying off employees, screwing customers over and all the while paying off the missing in action Federal Railroad Administration! No union pushback to amount to anything and older workers left to work in an anxiety and stress filled environment to sc-ap for the remnants of retirement time that they can with shutdowns looming right over everybodies heads. Engines being ran that should be disqualified, dangerous defective cars going up and down the rail, facilities stripped down to where repairs can hardly be paid and scab contractors being used more and more under the guise of not enough employees or it is too dangerous for an employee to do. Anybody that goes out now has plenty of proofs of their negligence and their blame for mental reasons of any failure!
This reminds me of the old safety policy : “All accidents can be prevented”. Question to NS management : Do you have car insurance? Home insurance? You do? Why? After all, all accidents can be prevented, right? Exactly...Now it is “All train failures can be prevented” Just what kind of ingredients are in management Kool Aid that they actually lie to themselves as company policy ? Take heart agreement employees, at least you can still look yourself in the mirror.
I hate working here . Im just trying to hang on till they tell me to not come in anymore, and I would be willing to bet there is many employees who are doing the same. Its easy to call me disgruntled but its a common attitude with everyone working here that I talk to. Thats no way to run a fortune 200 company.
The CEO and all the way down to sgf don't care. As long as the money keeps coming in. When it stop's, they will jump ship.
Worst run company in the world folks. Good ole NS!
