Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Agencies for Sale

Currently there are more than 1000 Allstate agencies currently for sale across the country. How can they call this transformative growth when policy count is shrinking and layoffs are occurring.

@vho+16IW2X1q In the past 5 days I have been in 2 meetings on this, the number of agents owning multiple agencies has gone up, the overall number of individuals owning agencies has dropped, the overall number of actually agencies is projected to be above last year even though the number of individuals owning the agencies will have dropped.

There is indeed an issue with the listings for sale, an email was sent out asking sales to update home office with the number of agents that are for sale since some of the info given to home office has not changed, some of the FSL's have been saying they have agents that want to sell but then when asked by leadership they have said they are not for sale.

If you look at www.allstateforsale.com it looks like there are many agencies for sale, when our region reviewed our states about 2 out of 3 of the listing had either sold last year or the agent has said they are no longer for sale.

I can confirm those are not accurate numbers, many of the private sites leave up the agencies for sale until the person putting on the listing actually removes it, many have been on there for years after the agencies have sold.

On Allstate's own website they will list agencies for sale in various states, those are not actually agencies for sale but locations that the company will put up to get candidates, there may or may not be an actual agency for sale there.

Looking at the information projecting new agencies until the end of the year Allstate will finish the year with more agencies than they had last year, not by much though.
