Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Does anyone know how long term disability works? If you draw from MetLife do you have to pay it all back from RRB, if you’re approved by RRB for disability benefits? Thx

I’m disabled because I can’t control my bowel movements. That why I wear diapers

What ailment or injuries qualify for occupational disability. Does anyone know if stress and anxiety qualify? Maybe a person can’t sleep and is always fatigued and doesn’t feel safe working a safety sensitive position anymore. Asking for a friend. Thanks

I received LTD from Metlife, then approved by RRB disability. I received a letter from MetLife I must pay back all the money that MetLife had paid me since RRB will take over?

I don’t think RRR benefits have to be paid back once you get disability, I’ve never heard that, maybe I’m wrong. I do no if you are receiving RRB sick benefits while being off and you claimed a occupational injury and get a settlement, then you have to pay the RRB and supplement sick benefits back

Your LTD is reduced dollar for dollar from the amount you get from the RRB (just like short term disability). If you receive 5000 from LTD and 1000 from RRB MetLife will deduct the 1000 from your LTD payment. You cannot “double dip” with these benefits. The same applies if you are approved for permanent disability from the RRB. I am going on long term and going through the application process for permanent RRB disability. If you apply for permanent disability from the RRB, MetLife has an attorney that will assist in filing the paperwork. They provide this benefit so their payments will be reduced when you are approved by the RRB. This process can take as long as two years.

You do not have to pay long or short term disability back, only railroad road sickness benefits are payed back if you actually get a disability.
