Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

MIT

The reality is that the company doesn't spend enough time developing MIT’s. There is no set program for this position, you just do what ever the club manager or co manager need you to do. And as far as getting a job that all depends on who you know. Dont expect a job to just appear after your training is done. Its sad that the company is giving these MIT positions away and many of them wont get a position. The only positive is the overtime you do and the extra money you make.

Ultimately it depends on what you want. If you want to move up, go through MIT, 95% of the ones I've trained got placed quickly. Also depends on your flexibility, don't take the position if you're not willing to drive or move. I'm fortunate enough to have multiple clubs within an hour, there's been atleast one opening in the area for the last few years.
On a side note its fun to go to clubs and work on projects, most MITs are chosen because they can do the floor stuff and need to learn the professional side of the business. Development is less needed for internals...if you're external, God help you.

There doesn't seem to be any positives to this
