The stock options are horrible and even worse timing. It's not like the executives got the money right away, it vests 50% per yearly anniversary and fully vests after 2 years - providing the exec stays with the company.
The execs also got a 20% temporary salary reduction, which isn't nearly enough.

Lets see...maybe if they hadn't given the corporate leadership $6.8 million in stock options during a pandemic, there would be room for pay rasises or keep more of our Ambassadors at SEA, BG, Sesame and the water parks employed.

I'm for unions and I support them. I was a unioned CM at WDW for a while.
If the company is giving employees raises because they are contractually forced to, but the day-to-day operations is negative profit how does that equal better for all?
At the end of the day a business needs to be in the black otherwise it'll fail. If SEAs were to be giving pay raises or bringing back ambassadors with decades of experience at a (relatively) high salary, I don't think the company could support that for long. The end result would result in a lot more jobs lost. I truly do wish SEAs would not furlough/lay off and I wish they cared more about ambassadors and pay situations.

Point is if we had a Union, maybe more jobs would be saved. Maybe if we had someone fighting SR and was a huge thorn in his side....like Disney some with seniority might get rewarded for years of service, even in a pandemic. I get that Disney still has thousands furloughed as well. Just ironic that during a global pandemic, a segment of their employee base will soon get a raise..not a pink slip. Unions did that for them.

It's written in the contract, it's binding and the company can't "not" do it.
