Just went to Macy’s. Very sparse merchandise. Poor.

Keep ‘merchandising’ markdowns in those bare tired musty buildings called Macy’s!
Dillard's is fully stocked and full of shoppers – so it's not "normal".
I take issue with the robotic merchandiser comment. I have been a RTW merchandiser for almost 20 years. I still take great pride in my job. Yes, there are fewer goods to put out and many more markdowns to deal with but by no means am I a robot.
Visual has nothing to do with it. There is hardly any merchandise in the store we were in. Visual would not have anything to work with.
Also the registers are protected with plexiglass- but the counter is wide open!
Eliminating visual also has to do with the lack of caring and fashion in store. Just robotic merchandisers left in stores!
Plus the stuff they have all looks cheap
Ok follow up... Kohl’s next door is FULL of merchandise!! So are other stores.
This tells me Macy’s has not the proper inventory for shoppers at all. Most likely because they do not have the cash flow to order merchandise. It is a stark, cold, impersonal experience. Other retailers are certainly making it look good. Macy’s... not so much.
