Severance was generous, 10 weeks plus a 1 week per year of service and 2 months benefits. I ended up taking a new job with a 25% pay bump and pocketing most of it. Friend of mine who was part of the November layoffs had the same situation, new employment before the benefits ran out with a big pay bump.
If you're still there, start looking for a new position and hold out for the severance before making the jump. Totally worth it.
Another round of Layoff on Nov -27.
They offered all of us 10 weeks pay, plus one week for every year with the company. For those that got two days notice, it went into affect right away. For those in my group, we get the severance, if we stay until the end of November.
Anyone mind sharing the package that they got?
Good luck to those affected.....and me. Got a 1-1 invite from my manager for tomorrow. Oh well.
All anyone knows is anecdotal, there are no real numbers or indications of why certain people were laid off. People from all levels, top level management, top developers, junior support and others were all laid off . No rhyme or reason behind the decisions, which makes it extra scary for those that remain. If the company financial performance didn't influence it ( RSA has done great over the last 12 months) and individual performance didn't influence it, what did? I hate what has become of a once great company.
This is just the beginning move to STG will be all about the bottom line. To being g handled well by RS executive they have not said one word about this. Good people let go knowledge being lost and expertise.
So much of resilience and BS talked in all hands. Company has done better in last year and have printed $$ during COVID times. But when time came leadership took fatter checks due to acquisitions and had this layoffs for people.
Let us summarize the results on an "independent" RSA:
- 401k suspension will continue until 2021 at a minimum
- Raises are suspended indefinitely
- Promotions are suspended indefinitely
- Following a one week honeymoon, the ELT laid off an unknown number of our coworkers and friends, with no comment
- Further layoffs have not been ruled out
IDD as well.
Major layoffs in Netwitness as I have heard in Bedford and Reston. Also Marketing was heavily affected last I heard.
Company did very well during the last year, numbers way up due to customers pivoting to remote. This is a gut punch. Top performers were let go as well. The remainder are looking over their shoulder... It was a great company to work for.
Overland Park Engineering: 3 jobs lost
No answers on totals company wide or even official confirmation of layoffs from the new leadership.
