Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Squeezing out old reps to then rehire new reps?

It seem Verizon is squeezing out old reps by implementing sh–ty new policies such as scheduling, commissions, and all of the volatility. What they could do next is higher new reps at a lower rate with current expectations.

In short: They are hoping many will quit so they can hire at a lower rate. Or transition even more stores to indirects.

What do you guys think Verizon is doing here?

Because one goes the extra mile to sell anymore so not sure that Verizons agenda is.

No, team commission won't last because there won't be any teams. If you think Vz will still have corporate stores in 3-5 years, you are delusional.

This way people will get mad,, people will quit & Verizon does not get the bad PR or black eye of laying off people. Its in the master plan. Its called Verizon survivor folks your gonna have to s— it up for awhile. If you think its bad now wait until 1st quarter comes. I hate my job in January & February. It'll be worse 2021 I'm guessing. But I play Verizon survivor, I'm in it for the long game I see whats in it 3-5 years from now. I don't see this team commission lasting. I'll have my hourly raise and they'll switch back to regular commissions and I'll be sitting pretty getting paid on both sides with a full 40hrs plus overtime. We just gotta wait this out.

So, my job moved to Raleigh a year and a half ago...I had to move with it or be laid off. Now, they are all working from home...hhhhmmmm

This has been the VZW way for years. Not going to get better. Let the Indirects and Spectrum sell for them. They will be nothing more than a network and have 3rd party take care of everything else so that Hans can continue to collect his ridiculous bonuses.

It’s all smoke and mirrors. They say one thing and do another. I remember when they said 2.0 is about customer experience and employee experience when both are clearly an afterthought. What was wrong with the way the schedule was before? It’s a punishment. Why change commissions and tell us it’s better? Lies. They want us to leave that’s clear.

Verizon is a money hungry company all they care about is money. If we want things to change we have to unionize they have all the control right now. We are back to working Sundays longer hours less reps. They hope we all quit in the event more stores closed no packages will be offered.

What I don’t understand is why Verizon cut commission which moved a lot of top performers to telesales....then the new structure is mor ris based yet management is putting more pressure on hitting numbers? I don’t get it. You cut our target commission by $400ish and you think we’re gonna be motivated to hit 1.3 on sales and maybe make are old target commission.

Just bring back leaderboard and pushing hum because that’s basically the message. It’s not about hitting commissions like my PG says, my PG says NOTHING about hitting an ard # or tmp %.

Btw we hit commission every month. So leave us the f—k alone about metrics unless we’re not hitting goals.

If you want us to hit goals go back to the old performance agreements

I’ve literally heard this philosophy from a director during a town hall meeting. If you don’t like the way things are, there are many people off the street that can be hired in your place.
