I keep hearing that they are going to start closing neighborhood stores before end of the year. That makes literally no sense to me. But has anyone heard this? Supposedly someone in HR is the one telling people this.

Too bad...I opened that location years ago. Just an FYI... all stores are bare.... Holiday merchandise isn't arriving until mid October to mod November. So I wouldnt use that as a sign of closing.
No Christmas at Logan Valley. Unless you count the Last Act we still have from last Christmas!
What is your store? Turning into a fulfillment center doesnt necessarily mean they are closing your location.
I have a neighborhood location that has been a fulfilment center for a year. Bottom floor still open. We recieved permission from
Local fire marshall to close other entrances.

The rumors are true, our neighborhood store received notice that we will be closing in a couple of weeks and turning into a fulfillment center. We will be keeping at your service open for returns , but closing all other entrances and walling off the store.
Seems crazy to close right before the holiday but we guess that it makes more sense to ship out everything instead of doing a closing sale. Plus the company will save a lot of money since many people will quit as we don't want to do fulfillment and lose commission sales.
Did you receive any Christmas merchandise at Logan Valley?
Logan Valley Mall (PA) – we've been told to expect a closing announcement mid-October. Store is bare – very little merchandise. A giant section of the men's department is blocked off to make the existing section look like it has more merchandise; unfortunately, it makes it look even worse. Rumor is the JCP in our mall will be one of the additional 149 stores they will be closing post-bankruptcy. This mall is dead.

It would make sense. Especially if we have another spike in cases. Numbers have been abysmal as it is.
