Thread regarding Pioneer Natural Resources Co. layoffs

Great balance sheet

So we all keep hearing about this great shape that the company is in....seems like salaries are an insignificant issue. Re-org after re-org, probably isn’t going to recover morale anytime soon.

You reap what you sow. Permian was done in when they let all the South Texas carpetbaggers & yahoos in to run the Permian. We were doing fine & controlling costs until the S. Texas jackwagons got in and running things.

All those who are not sympathetic to people on here can just pound sand!!! Of course people are upset! Just read and give support for those who did not get rich here! Those that were dedicated much of the time sacrificing family time or work life balance!

Morale is nonexistent. 25% of the last 2 years has been spent wondering who will or will not make the cut. The combination of job speculation math and decision ethics with working from home vs visibility in the palace on the hill, has created a toxic environment regardless of locale. PXD is certainly a far cry from that coveted “best company” rating not so long ago. This flippant attitude and insensitivity to what this means for individuals and families is such a shame.

These layoffs are because we are in a commodity based business, one with extreme crests and extreme troughs. I’m surprised everyone acts so flat footed. You get paid in the crests to ride out the troughs. If you don’t want to worry about layoffs work for the federal government.

These layoffs are because of overspending and mismanagement of spending! There is no visibility on spending then they say we need to tighten our belt! The decisions are a financial epic failure and most places would fire the VP of accounting and CFO! Oh don’t get me started on that LCO building made of glass! The costs on that another failure!

you are correct it is very misleading when you hear that Pioneer has a fortress balance sheet, low debt and the best rocks; that is a– comment of many times. Does make you wonder if there are other more hidden reasons that they are doing another lay-off. The morale will never come back after this one. Pioneer has jointed the Corp monsters that only believe in money and returns, the employees are COGS
