Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Loyalty to my paycheck

Sam’s isn’t the best place to work - but it isn’t the worst either. Regardless on whether I’m working a shift that is short staffed or my schedule is suddenly changed, I’ll s— it up because my paycheck is important to me. If my supervisor thinks I’m dedicated to the company - even better. Let them think my loyalty is to the company. The way I see it, I’ve got as much loyalty to the company as it does to me.

Loyalty no longer is a proud feeling. Since Covid it seems that those who are loyal by not calling out extensively or taking the 2 weeks off to self quarantine are taken advantage. From filling positions where departments are short handed because of call outs to getting reprimanded for not completing your tasks in your area due to assisting every where else, being loyal is not a great thing any longer. During these times, it has become a blessing and a curse. A blessing because you have a paycheck to pay rent and feed your family and a curse because we are exposed to the elements that could take our paychecks away. We have been so loyal that we have not needed to claim unemployment and be blessed with additional financial assistance. Sure we get bonuses but truthfully what does $300.00 extra do. Sometimes I wonder if loyalty is just another word for "stupid". Work used to be Fun! What happened!

LIke supervisors aren't doing same. No one is loyal to the company. Everyone is loyal to themselves.
