COVID case ignored

Over the weekend I get a text saying there was a COVID case at the store and that the area the said employee works at has been cleaned. You would think this would be addressed when I returned to work Monday right? Instead it's as if it didn't happen.

I wish that management would enforce mask wearing and social distancing with both associates and customers. My latest favorite? A customer that kept pulling his mask down (big ticket - where we are face to face with our customers for extended periods of time) that said that he couldn't keep his mask up because he was sick and couldn't breathe.....not even kidding. Not my customer, but I thought that the associate desperate to make a sale was nuts for tolerating that. And a sign on the door saying "No Food or Drink" would be nice. Customers walking around with their Starbucks, masks down, s—ing on a coffee...or the kid snacking on gummy bears, mask down, dropping candy all over the furniture. Brilliant.

Cleaned?? You mean with a HEPA-filtered air system? Covid-19 only lives on hard/soft surfaces for a limited time. THE VIRUS IS AIR-BORNE!!! That's why the proper wearing of masks is so important. Macy's can have all the "high-touch" cleaning associates they want, but the main defense against contracting this deadly disease is to prevent inhaling it. If you touch a lot of surfaces and then don't effectively wash your hands before touching your eyes, nose, mouth- then guess what? You increase your chances of getting sick. That's an easy fix. What is Macy's doing about enforcing proper mask wearing among their customers as well as making sure the buildings are safely ventilated? That is the real question. Cleaning? What, did they boil all the racks of clothing in the "infected" area? (sarcasm)

I can not believe The amount of ignorance from some of you people! People have an absolute right to be concerned for their health and well being. You people are so desperate for the pennies that Macys give you to the point where you just don’t give a da*mn about your health or the health of your colleagues. The moral of all of this is that Macys should be a little more concerned for the people who makes the world of “M” go around. If stores continue to ignore cases and there is an outbreak in stores then what is Macys going to do?? People want to know that their employer has their back. I pray that none of you see an untimely demise because you care more about your job then your life. Uughh

The part I find funny is that macys says they cleaned the area where the associate worked, as though a bunch of other employees hadn't worked there too, or the associate hadn't been lots of other places as well. Whether or not you're concerned about a risk, you have to admit that that's typical macys being proud of their half-a– measure.

Imagine living your whole life this afraid. How do you deal with getting in your car and driving to work...lots of bad drivers out there that could easily run you off the road. After all, traffic accidents k–l way more than scary ol' Covid

The absolute state of the american population...
