Thread regarding Hertz layoffs

Make Hertz Profitable Again

Keys to a turnaround,

  1. Sell Donlen ASAP
  2. Sell DTAG ASAP- get what we can!!!

3 Close all but the top 60 AP locations.

  1. Close most HLE locations
  2. Exit TNC business
  3. Fire most AP Directors, and force GMs in Top 30 to take 25% pay cuts ir let them go.
  4. Add updated Kiosks to most APs, and fire 40% of CE staff.
  5. Outsource most OKC jobs in 3 years
  6. Force 90 to 95% UTE daily , and never comp rentals or fees.
  7. Get rid of Medallia. The car rental business in general is a high detractor business. Run the business rather than pandering to pissy corporate garbage renters that want everything for nothing.
  8. Look for a tech savy organization to buy Hertz and turn it into a "Unicorn"— no idea what it will look like but its our only hope.

For those that are still here, did you see Paul’s GSD blog? This goes to show that we’re back in business and that there’s new hope.

A lot was mentioned with “haven’t had that since March” kind of chatter.

GMs are not overpaid. You could have paid them half as much to run this company into the ground.

Exactly why Hertz should just liquidate. There are no options. The business is just a debt bloated, technology lacking, non-creative company with nothing to offer customers when the pandemic is over in a couple years. (Yes, I said it a couple years). Hertz is not able to pivot at all, and rhe garbage management and lazy hourly employees are no help in getting this company back on track. This is clearly a hopeless endevour, and Hertz will be liquidated by June 2021. You read it hear first.

1) No one is buying DTAG - who would want it? All the debt and no business
2) The powers in charge are in love with HLE right now
3) Top 30 GM's received a retention bonus already. Not to mention those guys are underpaid compared to other industries. A pay cut for them would equal a mass exodus
4) Kiosks don't work at Hertz. The company doesn't have the technology or IT in place for those to be successful.
5) You can't run 90-95% everyday. Some days sure but it effects customer service which effects repeat business. Also effects employee moral and retention. If you had good managers to support and help the staff sure. But for the most part managers are underpaid and lack training to be effective. The company blew out most of the caring and seasoned employees in 08-09 and lost a lot with the move from NJ to FL
6) Perhaps restricting the amount of comps or rental adjustments but you can't entirely eliminate them, it's a part of customer recovery in any industry

If and when the travel industry comes back Hertz won't have the fleet to take the business. Nor will they have financing to purchase new fleet.

Ugh no ..just no lol.

I give u Donlen and dtag group.

I wouldn't close AP location unless it has been underperforming in past. The travel industry will boom back. I wouldn't close HLE unless location underperformed in past. I actually would sell it off.

The problem is that Senior Leadership has already given up and accepted liquidation as an inevitable fate. Now they're trying to find ways to take as much money as they possibly can before Hertz closes its doors for good. That's my honest opinion. Donlen may sell before it's all said and done, but DTAG is going down with the ship...
