Thread regarding Raytheon Co. layoffs

15k job cut this year, already underway

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.courant.com/business/hc-biz-raytheon-job-cuts-20200916-h4xcvgtxnrdzrowyiuvepruv5y-story.html%3foutputType=amp

15k have been cut and are being cut in Collins, PW and RTX corporate.

I suspect a lot of this is merger related especially at Collins and RTX. PW cuts are less substantial from everything I know in management

Collins has already done its actions as part of this 15k. Employees got a clarification this week.

Spot on! Basically...everyone needs to "pony up"..."share the pain"...blah blah blah. Common sense says why would you go after the ones that are "holding you up". :-(

The legacy Raytheon have been quietly laying off for months. Also, a lot of folks, especially in the leadership ranks have been “retiring” which is helping to cut the bloat in management.

RTX corporate needs to do the same in the leadership ranks. The bloat at that level is insane!!!!!!

They just cut 100/350 here in Troy Oh. I guess they will cut more. We went from 3 shifts to two. I guess one shift will be the goal.

Hayes also says at that they’re not done looking for further ways to reduce structural costs in all of the businesses. So I’d expect legacy Raytheon to start getting affected soon. Collins and Pratt have been taking the brunt of the pain. This comment he made solidifies the thought many of us on the legacy side have had that it’s eventually going to make its way to us regardless of how well this side of the business is doing. I would just like to know how much of it will be office jobs and how much will be on the manufacturing level.

RTX corporate is the old RTN corporate? What about on the RTN side with the BU mergers?
