I was part of the recent layoffs, but what did I expect from a company that only cares about profits. I mean seriously, who couldn’t see the writing on the wall when ELT is slowly running the company into the ground while the toxic culture is thriving. I will miss my coworkers but am glad it’s over with - at least for me.

Someone rightly used the word "clueless".
- State Govt. has clueless folks as they are engaged in work outside the company, and have alternate sources of income. Even State Govt. Managers are aware of their 2nd jobs and love the idea of timepass on optum $$.
- Clueless Managers on who is contributing what, so much so they take credit for someone else's hardwork 😳
- State Govt. is a dumping ground - Yadav + DXC brings in folks to grow their respective circles & let goes passionate staff who deliver results. Delivering results is against State Govt. Business plan or vision as it impacts their ability for contract amendments. Sadly. Zero leadership. We don't need VPs if contracts have to be canceled or people are to be let go. College graduates can do that, its a no brainer and we can save $$$ in VP and Director salaries.
Really.. what value are VP and SGS Grade 30 & 31 in non clinical role bringing?
What Dept and how many were let go?
Working there was like working in a septic tank. Every hour or few hours you got dumped on. It was run for and by hustlers. A professional ghetto to make the owners get even more billions. Yet, they lay off people with tons of experience and hire foreigners and 20 , 30 year old clueless wonders who won't question anything on that us corporate plantation.
This company is unbelievable. All the wrong I've seen and the terrible managers is mind blowing. Think of spoiled children throwing a tantrum, this is UHC management. Majority of the managers are extremely toxic and employee turn over is very high due to the continuous layoffs and people leaving from the terrible work environment. I left a few months ago and zero regrets. My panic attacks are gone, my state of mind is positive, and very happy to leave this place. Only work at UHC / Optum if you have no other choice and bills are piling up and always be on the lookout for other jobs because this place is short term at best.
It was typical US cesspool. Good luck for all to find more fulfilling and value-oriented ways of life rather than an empty hustling/huckstering existence.
I walked away from my cesspool of toxic misery about a year ago when the writing on the wall for 2020 became apparent. Its nice to have a new lease on life. Take care all.
