So....what is going on with the captain positions??
Employees were told they were going to be “captains” in certain departments when they eliminated other positions(Leads & Suoervisors) in the store.....but “Captain” is no where to be found on our organization chart?? Anyone have any info?

I'm jumping ship. My whole history since 2017 has been a not been fun.
I have no idea what their agenda are for macys. But I am tired of running the whole store and no recognition.
No official captain title or official job description title. Title is either Sales POS, Sales Colleague, BOH Colleague. All with red badges stripped of Exec status.
If there are “really” captains now.. then why doesn’t it say so on their job titles?
I was a captain making $22 an hour. I saw the writing though and jumped ship
In my store, some captains do nothing but ring and others carry the store on their back.. I see it all the time, don't get why the do-nothings get to keep their pay.
Have any of you read the scandal going on over on the Barnes & Noble page? What an horrendous place that must be.
Is it even a real position anymore or is it just a way making the associates who had their positions eliminated “believe” that they are in charge so that they don’t resign and go elsewhere?
I was a lead and now am not but I kept my pay and my 40 hours. Happy to not be a “captain” of a sinking ship”.
Do you seriously still not see the writing on the wall?
The captains get $10.00 per hour no commission. And work like dogs.... they are just strung along in hopes of becoming mangers....but it's a sick game....they never will...
"Captain" means Full Time Colleague and they have no special power in the store other than holding keys.
