Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Plan and Simple Taking away the ability to request a day off is B-U-L-L Sh--

This isn't fair to the retail worker. THE ONE GOOD THING about working non standard hours was being able to say hey I want off THIS day and not have to use a day. Sure its not fair to the random office work but they also get to work 9-5 mon - fri.... Unless stores are going to close SUN for good and saturdays are going to be rotated FAIRLY then f— all the way off. Even then what are you going to do with all these part timers... What flexibility is there in stepping down if you cant even choose that flexibility

It’s not just retail folks. Network and from the sounds of it every department in vz has gone down the tubes. They had a good thing going and have thrown it against the rocks.

This is the process going forward so anyone who works retail no longer has the ability to request a day off unless they use a vacation or person day. It’s trash and screws the employees. It’s one thing to have a Monday-friday consistent schedule but when you dont the one thing retail offered was flexibility for your 2 days off a week.

Now Verizon is saying F U. I need a random Wednesday off only way i can get it is using a vacation day. I can’t use one of my 2 regular weekly days off. Going on vacation? Now you have no control over how your regular days off are used so you have to use more vacation days.

BUT NOW I CAN SCHEDULE SWAP EASIER!!! FOH

Funny thing is you played yourself because you could have opted out of being in the store at any time

@pmt+16aRMh0S....A sweet Ride? Are you fcking kidding me? You clearly have no idea what people in the stores went through while we were open during this pandemic. We didn't HAVE options if we worked in stores or worked from home. If you did, then you clearly took the pssy way out and worked from home as you were "concerned" about your health and/or safety. Most didn't have that option. We went to work and risked exposing ourselves and our family to this panedemic virus. All while worrying about ensuring our company with their "golden dollar". GTFOH

Oh boooohooo you had to work your 40 hours while the retail folk had to work and expose themselves to customers EACH AND EVERYDAY and stand outside in the heat greeting customers for hours. Please explain to me how that was an easy ride
